This Gold thimble was found in the water at one of our club hunts! Why would there be a thimble in the lake? Your guess is as good as mine. Found by Dick Root. |

Last fall my treasure hunting buddy Jake asked me if I wanted to go on a hunt about 40 minutes from my home. I said sure and we made plans for that coming up Saturday to hunt all day. We got to our destination early in the morning and the corn was still standing where the old house stood over 100 years ago. We were kind of disappointed to say the least. We got in our vehicles and started driving back toward another site when he just turned into a driveway only 1/2 mile down the road. We got out of the vehicles and walked to the door to ask if we could hunt their property. The owners were delighted to tell us about his land and to have us see what we could find. We could tell that this site had been hit before because of the lack of older targets. However we did manage to pull this old spear point out at 6".The amazing thing was that the spear point was stuck straight in the ground and the edge was the only thing for the Minelab Explorer SE to detect. I believe that the position of the point was why it was still there after all these years. Yes it is copper! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX |
